2009 National Nonprofit Group E-Mail Append Project

Project Overview
McPherson Associates, Inc., in partnership with FreshAddress, Inc.,provides organizations with an opportunity to expand their eCommunications capabilities through a group e-mail append. Group appends are organized twice a year to help nonprofits collaborate in order to keep costs down.

What is E-Mail Appending?
E-mail appending is matching e-mail addresses that are already on your files. In order to maximize the value of the appended e-mail addresses, we recommend creating a series of e-mails to establish online communications and showcase the interesting information and useful services on your organization's website.

About FreshAddress
McPherson Associates has a preferred partnering agreement with FreshAddress, Inc. to manage nonprofit group e-mail appends and receives special volume based discounted pricing. FreshAddress, Inc. is a Boston-based company that specializes in data hygiene services, such as e-mail appends, particularly to the nonprofit sector.

Project Details
The next opportunity to participate in a McPherson National E-Mail Append will be in Winter 2009. To sign up, or for more information, contact Chantel Smith .

Upon confirmation of participation, we will send instructions on where to upload your files. Individual nonprofit files are then “stitched” to create one large master file, which will qualify for a volume-based discounted rate.

Fresh Address will run the e-mail match, in what is termed a 'household append', then send separate permission e-mail messages developed by McPherson Associates, in partnership with your organization, to all potential matches offering them the chance to opt-out of your e-mail list.

Upon completion of the process, your organization will receive two files: the e-mail addresses of people who have not opted out, who you are free to contact, and the addresses of those people who have opted out of ecommunication. You will only be charged per matched e-mail. Match rates average 15-20%.

April 2009 Append
The April 2009 project produced some great results.  Organizations enjoyed an average match rate of 21%.  Participants of the April append can contact Chantel Smith for more in depth results.
